Nissan Motor Posts Y288bn Net Profit In April-Dec

TOKYO (NQN)--Nissan Motor Co. (7201) said Wednesday its net profit grew 430% on the year to 288.4 billion yen in the nine months through December.

Its profit was boosted by higher auto sales in Asia and other fast-growing regions.

The automaker's sales rose 19% to 6.42 trillion yen and its operating profit surged 96% to 448 billion yen during the period.

Nissan also raised its net profit outlook for the year through March to 315 billion yen, 7.4 times higher than the previous year. The company had previously forecast a 270 billion yen net profit.
